Coming from a health perspective other than an experimentation...Yes. I have had friends and family members suffer from anxiety through the years and go on and off of medicines that either make them sleep all the time, or turn them into an insomniac. Smoking weed calms them yet at the same time lets them still work, and have the patience for other people without getting physically sick or withdrawing completely. Here is the main question: HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU KNOW HAVE DIED AS A RESULT FROM A HIGH DRIVER?!?! And how many do you know have been killed by a drunk driver? If alcohol should be legal, than weed definitely should be. Everything in moderation, of course.

Yes, marajuania should be legalized. In other countries such as Canada, marajuania is used as a medicinal drug and is prescribed in a pill form. Which I personally think that smoking marajuania is better then snorting pills, smoking crack, shooting hereoin, or even trying to make and or use crystal meth. The government would gain excessive amounts of money for the taxes, and if it was legalized in the U.S., think of how much medical research could be done on it, and for diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, and even maybe Alzheimer's could take advantage of the use of this drug. The pain that patients that are affected by these diseases are sometimes less likely to become an addict of their pain relievers, and muscle spasms.

Of course it should. The reason that is isn't has nothing to do with the effects of the drug (a lot of them are good for eye disease, stress and lets not forget cancer sufferers). It isn't legal because it is a difficult thing to tax, people can grow it themselves without giving a share of the profits to the government. Hemp could potentially replace many products that are in the market such as nylon rope and synthetic fibres. (all non degradable)
Look deeper than your opinions and find that there are many good properties to hemp and dope and many seriously wrong reasons as to why it is still illegal.
And.. lets face it, anyone who knows about the effects of smoking the drug knows that smoking dope is not going to make you get into a fight, abuse your wife (alcohol might) and its not going to land you in the gutter or stealing someones video recorder.
BUT.. FOR ALL THOSE WHO THINK IT LEADS TO HARDER DRUGS:
from experience the fact that it IS NOT legal has lead me to get my hands on some very dangerous drugs. Had I been able to buy my dope from somewhere other than the black market, i may not have known where to get my hands on other more dangerous drugs. Hmmm?

Yes, I think it should be. For one the government stands to make trillions on the taxation and regulation of it. Plus there would be tons of jobs created by the farming of the mary jane. New establishments would be formed do to the consumption of mary. New foods would hit the top of the charts because of it. Especially funions!

It's an inferior drug for what people want it to do. We'd be better off creating higher quality drugs we can control and regulate, rather than using a potentially destructive plant that has gotten far out of control.

I'm speaking in terms of pain treatment and recreation, of course.

yes...i smoke marijuana well used to smoke marijuana on a daily basis and its not as bad as everyone puts it out to be its not at all like coke or meth or heroin, and have you ever heard of anyone dying off of smoking it no, so why not legalize it? plus it can help you in lots of different ways that's why the government sells it to patients....so its almost already legal why not just take the whole 10 yards

Yes; it has a boatload of medical benefits; it is less harmful than tobacco (unless you smoke both, in which case it's worse than JUST tobacco); it would eliminate an entire criminal class and empty the jails, and it could be taxed immensely and still be cheaper than it is now, so it would be a win-win-win situation all around.

It should not be. If it's legal, it's just like cigarettes. They kill you. and marajuana, it kills your mind. "Oh it's cool to smoke pot until i don't know what cool is, then i have to have my friends tie my shoes.. but i don't have friends because i'm a pot smoking loser." No, it should not be legalized. It's not healthy.

I am actually torn on this one.

I don't think it should because it is a gateway drug. Most people that I know that do heavy drugs started with pot. It is also dangerous to society because it leads to people driving high.

But alcohol is legal and it is just as bad so I don't know what to think.

Yes, it's better than drinking. It mellows you out, & you don't get hangovers the next day. I don't see why it's illegal, it's not like crack & meth & all that other crap people are using now, it's just a plant. I thnk it's good for calming the nerves.
