You take the total number of games WON by the team, and divide that number by the total number of games the team has played overall ((wins plus losses))

Thus, the Pittsburgh Pirates winning percentage is .370, or their wins (40) divided by the total they've played (40+62=102)

Easy huh?

Wins divided by total games played..If a team has 67 wins and lost 33...67/100 =.670

55 wins, lost 44 - 55/99= .556

102 wins, lost 60 - 102/162=.630
