That's easy. Best=FDR (Teddy R. would be a close second, but he doesn't fit exactly in the 100-year limit).

Worst=George II (our Boy George and the Rove/Cheney/Rumsfeld power base that pulls his strings).

I'd add two categories, just to be fair.

Better than he's been given credit for: Jimmy Carter.

Worse than his reputation might lead you to think: now that's worth pondering, but I'd say JFK.

Best prognosticator: Dwight D. Eisenhower in a speech three days before the end of his term, in which we warned us about the dangers of the military/industrial complex. Dangers that have expanded and taken over the country just as Ike's interstate highway system has. I doubt that even he could have imagined the ultimate consequences of either.

If only we could read what historians will be saying 100 years from now . . . .

In the last 100 years. . . . Wow. Although I truly believe our greatest presidents served longer ago than that, those being Jefferson and Lincoln, I think that FDR was the best in that period. I used to think the worst was a dubious four-way tie between Harding, Coolidge, Nixon, and Reagan, but now I think the worst president in the last 100 years, and in the history of our country, is the incumbent.

Best: Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan, they had the spine to take action.

Worst: William J. Clinton and Jimmy Carter, no spine at all, and in some aspects, Franklin D. Roosevelt, too weak and chummy with Stalin, he did not listen to his generals enough, I know he was their commander, but he was friendly, too friendly with the Left, and I have considered it was a difficult period in history, but there was no reason at all to allow the Reds to take over Eastern Europe..

BEST: LINCOLN. He preserved the union and ended slavery. America would be divided into pieces if it wasn't for Lincoln

WORST: GEORGE W. BUSH: This guy is so bad that I don't even know where to start.

the best president was President Nixon due to he said he'd get us out of a no-win war in Viet Nam and he did what he said...thank God for him...the scandal with Watergate i don't care...the break ins...a lot of other presidents did the same...ONLY difference, he got caught..otherwise he was a good President, regardless...also the worst president in my time was Lyndon Banes Johnson CZ he kept putting more of our young men in the service to fight a political war that he KNEW we could not win....and they got killed ...over 50,000.00 young men between the ages of 18-25 all died...for what?????? a political war that's what....it was awful and we have to go on...My friends son was killed in Vietnam and he was only 19 years old...she has never gotten over it ; but has learned to move on...what choice did she have...he was her First born...we never bring it up to her...TOO PAINFUL!!!
