why is there a law against smoking weed but not cigarettes

Weed gets you high, which opens up the possibility of you doing something stupid and dangerious- which might result in serious injusry or death. Cigarettes have a relaxing effect (even though they stress the heart). The therapeutic index (a measure of how lethal a substance is) for weed is extremely high, meaning that you'd need tons and tons to kill you, whereas it is much lower for cigarettes, meaning that you need less of it to die from it.
You would think that because of this both cigs and weed would be outlawed, but tobacco companies have become so powerful and generate so much of the world's money that it is difficult to regulate them. That's why weed is regulated more than tobacco.

Weed impairs your state of being, and can intoxicate you. Cigarettes give you a head rush, but they dont impair you. But still, alchol impairs you and is legal, so personally I think weed should definately be legalized.
Personally, I smoke only my Marlboro Menthol Mild's 72's but I think weed is fun for the kids to do, and isn't REALLY harmful, or addictive. Cigarettes are a much bigger problem in our society than weed.

Legalize it yeah...yeah and I will advertise it.. it makes no sense at all. not only cigarettes but alcohol kills more than anything people have to take the blinders off and see we don't live in a Utopian society and there are flaws in their perfect system..
we just need more people to call them on it.

if weed is legalized and the government can tax it the price would go through the roof! not to mention all the additives and preservatives they would add!

i was seriously thinking about that today...
personally i think its stupid because weed is alot less harmful than cigarettes, and alcohol...its not addictive, and better for you.
i think in the next few years it will definatly be legal

they cant make cigarettes illegal. they would have to subsidize the farmers. tobbaco isnt just deadly to us but also to the land. the government would have to pay farmers untill the land gets better. but i do think drugs should be legal

when alcohol was legalized anslinger and the g-men needed something to do. weed wasn't grown in usa to any large degree. tobacco was.
