Your bad credit will only affect you if you BORROW money. If you are INVESTING in a mutual fund, then that will have no effect. You are putting money in the fund upfront. There is absolutely no risk to the fund manager, unless you are going to leverage the said investment (margins).

You do not open a mutual fund. You buy a mutual fund. And it is a cash only proposition. You send them a check which they then clear and then they sell you the shares for the amount sent.

bad credit and mutual fund are totally opposite direction.
mutual fund is open to all investor including you if you have money to buy it. that the saving side
the borrow side is the credit side. It had nothing to do with investing side. either way, try to clean it up and save harder

Absolutely. Buying mutual funds has little to do with your credit rating, because most of the time you will be buying them outright with cold hard cash.

In most cases yes however if your credit is bad enough a brokerage firm does have the right to refuse doing business with you. I have seen this happen on a few occasions with my company. (It's pretty rare)
