I believe if one can find a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court (the late Thurgood Marshall) one can find their way (notice I didn't say HE or SHE) can find a way to the Oval Office.

Not because of complexion but moreover because of career, the one I would throw into the White House yesterday is General Colin Powell. I don't think the man has ever tried talking out of the side of his mouth when addressing a political review board or the public. He would seem like Eisenhower re-invented but with more inclination than Ike toward equality issues.

Not that Ike slighted the issues, but didn't devote as much toward it, although he did share some terse words with the Arkansas governor Orval Faubus over the de-segregation of Little Rock High in 57'.

Ike was not only a General, but the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces during World War II, which I think made him such a great president. I equate Powell to that status, and know he wouldn't make a move onto another border unless he had ALL the details because HE would know what he was wishing on the sons and daughters of America, unlike Rumsfeld and "Wubya".

I hope so. I'm not black, I'm Native American and Italian, but I am a firm believer in equal opportunities for everyone. If I could have one wish, all racism and prejudice would disappear from this world, and the first to learn the lesson would be the person who answered about parolees not being able to be president. What goes around comes around.

I think one day there may be one but not in the near future. I think there is going to be a female president before a black president.

If the country can learn to see people for what they know and can do instead of for color then yes , but until then we will run by idiots like Bush.

Surely there will. Dr. Rice and Illinois' senator, Obama both strike me as good candidates.
