What do you buy as a birthday gift for somebody who just had a miscarriage? Obviously this person is not very happy at the present time. But her birthday was always a special day to anybody that knows her.

Whatever you normally would have the gift shouldn't change but maybe you can give her a much nicer card from your heart and let her know how much you care about her without getting her upset.

She's still the same person. What would you have bought her before? Buy that now. Her birthday should still be special. Her birthday gifts aen't going to change how she feels about losing the baby....for the better OR the worse. So just shop like always.

Obviously this person doesn't want to think about the miscarriage, especially on her birthday, so treat her as if nothing happened (if she wants to talk about it, let her mention it first). Maybe a day at the spa or something that will be relaxing.

anything you'd buy her before, but i'd focus especially on things that would be relaxing or uplifting for her, like some time at a dayspa or a manicure or something pretty for her home, etc.

NO MUSIC!!! She will always associate that song or CD with the bad time she went through.

Probably no food or restaurant gift certificates or alcohol either, you don't want her to drown her sorrows in food or alcohol.

A nice gift certificate. Give her a nice shopping trip with a gift certificate to her favorite shoe store, her favorite mall, or maybe give her a day at the spa, or a massage. Or even her favorite resteraunt!

Perhaps a nice necklace or braclet with a charm of a flower or perhaps a bracelet of flowers or something like that. I would avoid any type of references towards anything baby. This type of gift would be sentimental in the future as well as currently.

You are better to give her as a birthday gift a nice gown for sleeping with her husband to make another baby.

Many things. Just act as if she never mentioned a baby or a miscarraige. Just carry on as if she was herself again. Gift cards, manicures, much more. Good Luck.

Obviously your friend is going through a rough time so if I were you I would definitely get her something very personal and something that might help her relax. You might want to try some aroma therapy bath sets and candles.
