Pyometra is a bacterial infection of the uterus. It may be a secondary infection from respiratory or urinary infections or from hormonal imbalances. This is where the uterus fills with pus, causing swelling of the stomach, and oozing of the pus through the vaginal opening.Progression of the illness causes the hamster to become thin, and bony, and you may notice sticky eyes.
They only cure for his is to have fer spayed by a vet. It will reoccur with only med treatment.

I don't think it's wet tail or an infection if it only happens every four days and not the rest of the time. How much stuff is coming out of her? Is it enough to make you concerned or just a little? I have read that hamsters are able to breed every four or five days. Since she sticks up her tail and makes nests too, it seems likely that this is what's happening, though I haven't seen anything like it with my hamster. If she is acting ill or anything that concerns you, take her to the vet as soon as possible, but otherwise, I don't think she's sick.

I admit I do not know much about hamsters, but does she live in a cage with any other hamsters? If so, maybe she got sick from one of them, or maybe she is pregnant. Also, it could be a sickness called "wet tail" that hamsters get, I believe it is fatal unless treated. As always the case with a medical conditon and a pet, seek out a vet's help since they have gone to school to answer these types of questions.

Take your hamster to the vet immediately. This is some type of infection and he/she needs medical treatment. Best of luck.

If your child had the same thing happening what would you do???????????????? Is it possible that she's pregnant?
