The concept of what is cool and what is dorky has changed a lot since the Beatles first came out. They were different, and that is one of the great things about them. They were not trying to be a certain stereotype, and they were actually artists, not an idea someone came up with.

Actually they were very popular specially for girls. You have to take into account that in the 60 there is a new thing: THE TEENS, people with some money who can buy records and with time to listen to them. The older generations got married very young and had to work to support their families.
Anyway the Beatles have had a great influence in the popular music since the sixties. It was a pity that weird wives, childish personalities, gurus and other things broke the band.

There were goofy dorks who only made one good song-There are places I remember
There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I remember I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I’ll love you more
In my life I’ll love you more
