I have 3 rational points regarding God.

1. God cannot be more than ONE because if there were many gods besides God, then there would not have been such order in the universe, and each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others. If there would have been many gods then each god would try to defeat others to establish his rule.

2. God has to be Eternal then otherwise He would have a beginning. Suppose, we say God had a beginning, then there was a time when God did not exist. It means that he needed somebody else to make him exist. So there is somebody else who is God, not him. but as we agreed that there is only one God, therefore, there is no one else who make Him exist. When we say that God cannot be born, we are also saying that a creator cannot becomes his creation, because creation means what is in need of a creator. To be a creature, mean there had to be someone to create you. So if God becomes his creation, it means now he is in need of a creator. And this is absudity! As we know, A creation is not eternal. An eternal being is uncreated. We can conclude that the one God who is uncreated, has to be Eternal.

3. It follows by logical necessity that if God is one, and if He is eternal, Then obviously He does not beget , Nor is he begotten. Because if He beget, then He will have a child and the child will have to be God-like. So there will then be two Gods. Since we agreed that there is only one God, you cannot have two. OR If he was begotten, that means he would have father. Then the father will be older than him and more eternal than him. and we cannot have one who is more eternal than "ETERNAL"

AGREED?

Ok I didn't read it all but you asked how can god be 3 things or whatever. If god is almighty all powerful he crated the beutiful sunsets the light that light up this world and every human being with some special gift in all of us He created the rushing sea and the lions and bears he created love and faith and hope for us all If he can do all of that in a week create this all just in saying words "Let there be light" There's light Then why can't he be three things at ounce the Father The Son and The Holy Spirit?

There is only one God all religions points to this self same God. He is the alpha and the omega –the beginning and the end. The concept of trinity is proposed by many religions from time immemorial. Hinduism speaks about one God and three persons. And religions which follow the lines of Hinduism follow this same line of thought. God is someone omnipotent He is ever mysterious. He has no beginning and no end. He is the eternal and limitless. All these aspects of God are mysterious to human beings. Man can never comprehend these. Human beings are mortals and thereby their understanding is also mortal and God is eternal and limitless and how can mans limited reasoning could ever fit into God’s infiniteness?

If God can exist without a creator, why cant there be three persons in the same God? Just because this concept does not fit into human reasoning how can it be rejected? Or is it proper enough to measure the limitless with the limited? Can man ever comprehend the mystery associated with God?

What gives salvation to humans? Is it just the knowledge that God is just One and Omnipotent or that he is three persons in one being that gives salvation to human beings? Is it just this belief that becomes the criteria, the requirement for attaining heaven? Isn’t it just an aspect of God that human beings are just curious about? Why should there be divisions of will be saved/wont be saved because of this single notion?
All Holy scriptures are revelations of God , and through them He advises Human beings about the right path to walk, the right kind of life to lead.. Every Holy book speaks about the very same principles to attain salvation. God didn’t choose to reveal His mystery when He spoke as revelations to His people. He just gave them just what they could comprehend with their limitedness. So isn’t it through obeying/disobeying what He says that would become the yard stick to measure people who would/would not attain Heaven? Or just on the single concept of trinity/Oneness?

I am a believer in God. I am a Christian, but not a typical Christian.

I agree with you to a point. I am very familiar with logic, and understand your arguments. I want to reason with you.

Because I don't have a lot of time, I'm just going to talk about the first one.

I believe that there could be multiple Gods, if they were in perfect agreement with each other. I think that anyone that is all knowing agrees with everyone else that is all knowing. Because they all think the same, have the same personality, same knowledge, act the same, I don't have a problem with referring to multiple separate individual personages as one God. Almost like a single consciousness controlling multiple appendages.

Ok first of all i am a christian and God has always been and will always will be it is hard to fathom in are puny human brains. second it is called the Trinity there is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (also called the Holy Ghost) Now God is one in the same it is hard to explain. He is One but yet Three. God was not created and is Lord of all. This is were faith comes in. You have to believe and have faith, that is in every religion. But it will be explained when Jesus Christ(God the Son) returns to take believers to Heaven. He sent his son to die on the cross so that we would not face hell and eternal punishment. Hell was not intended for humans. it was intended for the devil and his demons. God is giving you a gift to accept that his son(Jesus) did die and he would have done it if you were the only one. Jesus loves you that much. Jesus is Gods son contrary to what some people believe. Some say he was a good man some say he is a prophet but they are wrong he is man kinds Savior, but to receive eternal life you must believe this with all your heart mind and soul. if you have questions contact me.

Ok here we go.
The problem of evil.
It has been proposed by many a philosopher that with a god, why would god allow evil? We cannot answer this question, for to understand a potential purpose of this universal magnitude is impossible. But there is a way for us to reason with this.

God can be three things:

1)Omnipotent (all powerful)
2)Omni-benevolent (all good)
3)Omniscient (all knowing)

It is said that god is all three. Impossible. Observe:

God can only be two of these things.

>If god is all knowing and all powerful, he cannot also be all good because there is evil.

>If god is all knowing and all good, then he is not all powerful and cannot control evil.

>If god is all good and all powerful, then he is not all knowing, and does not realize the evil.

Because evil does exist (or what is defined as evil by us) only one of these things can be true.

However, what if what we define as evil is not necessarily evil to the God. God can be all 3, only if evil did not exist for God (that is, God had no definition of evil, as God created all, and to God, all is equal as his creation). If there is no definition for evil, then there can be no definition for good, for they require eachother to define eachother. If god allows what we call evil, and god is all three, meaning that god is all good, then that what we call evil is not evil to god, and what we understand as good and evil, and essentally god, is destroyed.

Tell me this:
Why can't two Gods agree to have "order", like a truce:
you don't touch my stuff, i don't touch your stuff?

I mean humans can only see an insignificant portion of the universe, maybe somewhere far away different god is the master and the order is completely different?

You have made a number of statements, none of which can be proved. How do you know, or can you prove, that many gods (for instance) would necessarily result in a chaotic universe?

I'm sorry, luv - your comments, as they stand, are more opinions than anything else. They cannot legitimately be reasoned with or against.

If you really believe so much, should this go to the Religion and Spirituality section of Yahoo Answers? Philosophy tears god apart almost as well as science.

Yay TITAN! - we do have puny brains and the funny thing is that so many humans think that they're so good and can do it on their own, and that because its not logical to them then it can't be true.

God is so big and powerful that we will never understand Him completely. The only thing we need to understand is that He sent His only Son to die for every single person's sin. Jesus has stood in our place already.

All we have to do is accept this amazing gift!!

I'm not pushing my opinion...I'm stating my knowledge.
