LT would be the logical choice because he has not had a bad year yet in the NFL, but San Diego is going with an unproven quarterback in Rivers, with that said, LT has a very tough time moving the ball when teams load up the line, and with a young quarterback that is what will happen until Rivers proves himself. LJ would be a great pick but KC just lost one of the best OT's in the game in Willie Roaf, with him gone KC is really going to struggle moving the ball, so that leaves SA as the best choice for your number one running back choice.

You are right in being wary of LJ. Most fantasy analysts have him at #1 but i think hes overrated. I think that last years success was more of a fluke than anything. He hasnt had the bruden of carrying the ball for the full season so to me hes unproven. Try your best to get LT. LT is ranked below SA and LJ in most leagues and this is a mistake. I feel like LT is the better skill player and he has youth on his side. They were already comparing him to barry sanders back '04. If you cant get LT then take SA if someone is willing. At least we know that SA has had to carry the ball the entire season. good luck.

If you have the #1 pick, you can not go wrong with LJ, SA, or LT. Any of those 3 and you'll be fine. I personally prefer SA or LT at #1 as I want the top pick to be the best AND safest pick possible.

lol you guys are saying that LJ could be a bust because of Willie Roaf, and telling this guy to take Shaun instead? Shaun Alexander will have the same problems because he lost his main block Steve Hutchinson. LJ will be a small gamble yes, but the reward will definately outweigh the risk. He will produce massive numbers and you will regret not taking him if you have the chance. If you want to make a more conservative pick, LT is the choice. He always has great years, and is probably the most secure pick you can make.

LJ is still #1 on my list - if you're shying away from him, SA should be your #2 and LT your #3. Edge should be down around #6.

You can't go wrong with any of the big 3: LJ, SA, LT. In my opinion, LJ is best, than SA, than LT.

Take Shaun Alexander if you can. If not, grab LT or LJ. After them, I'd say Portis, Tiki, Ronnie Brown. You should be able to grab a great running back in the 2nd or even 3rd round too, like McGahee.

with the line issues and fullback issues yes LJ is a ?!
I like LT to do better than last year. Alexander is good though, but you must doubt he can have another record year.
LT is my choice, tough choice!

I would get LT. Without Drew Brees there, they will be relying on him a lot with Rivers running the show.

yeah... he had a monster second half... but that's it... ever... he had one good second half... that's hardly first overall material in my book... if he has another year like this... then ok... I'll believe the hype...
I've just seen too many guys have one good half and you never hear from them again...
AND THE OTHER BIG THING.... no one is mentioning that this guy has never had to really carry the ball for a full season... ever... who knows how he will hold up...
granted.. he's still first round material... but I don't know about first overall
