What is the best method of vaginal hygiene? Sometimes just washing the outer regions does not seem to be enough, especially during periods of sexual activity.

First of all the vagina has its own natural smell. for somw reason it must be the man or a woman who felt the smell of the vagina is bad. due to this, all of these harsh chemicals are sold on the market especially DOuche products that harms the healthy bacteria in the vagina. the only way to clean the vagina is to use dove or unscented soaps and take a bath twice a day or whenever you feel is neccessary. the only safest thing you could use are baby wipes or wipes for women. Remember some products for women can cause irritation, yeast infections, and God knows what else. Don't forget to urinate after you have sex. Take a shower or use a wipe or clean damp cloth.

A mild, unscented soap is probably your best route.
Douching is bad for you. Even if you do not use any chemicals and are only using water. The process of douching could actually push bacteria further into your vagina.

Keeping your pubic hair trimmed or shaved helps because pubic hair can trap bacteria from sweat and other things. Also wearing cotton panties allows your skin to breathe and keeps the area from getting really sweaty which will had to hygiene problems.

I've heard many doctors say the best method is to use an unscented bar of soap (I use Dial gold bar) and lukewarm water.

Don't listen to the men ... they are clueless!

Get a douche from your local Target or Walmart. Only get the natural kind and DO NOT get any scented ones.

You can re-use the bottle a few times and they are very cheap.

I use just warm water ... don't use soap!! You can use a teaspoon of white vinegar and it helps to disinfect and deodorize.

If you don't want to do this... a hand-held shower massage works too. :o)

keep baby wipes on hand, and wash a little more than just the 'outer regions'.

your chemist or pharmacy will have a wash designed for your vagina. Never use soap as this will give you thrush
