I mean, what is he famous for? Do you know?

he wrote a book" a brief history of time" it was a best seller.
he is a near einstein level mathematical genius. he is considered the best physicist in the world.
he has overcome severe physical limitations to do his work.
he works at cambridge university, he holds the same position that issac newton once did.
he did pioneering work concerning black holes and the origin of the universe.
he is considered to be todays einstein or newton by many of his peers.
much of his work is over my head, but i have a copy of his book and read it several times.

I don't know the specific name of his position at Cambridge, but Sir Isaac Newton once held the same position. I think the most important thing he does is try to make science accessible to everyone. Most people are tragically ignorant about science, and there's no excuse for it, what with the internets and all.

Stephen Hawking is one of the leading minds and foremost thinkers in the field of quantum physics and theoretical cosmology. Read his book "A Brief History of Time"....it lays out some awesome ideas and theories.

He is a brilliant mind trapped in a broken body.
He wrote a famous book---can't remember the name of it--Something in Time--or whatever.
I think he had some revelations on black holes. Can't actually remember. Not a big science follower.

i was under the impression that he is some sort of a scientific genius. i only got this impression because of all of the talk about him on YA. didn't know him from Adam before that....
