I just heard that since gas prices keep going up, the US may cut out paying sales tax on gas. is that true?

keep on dreaming buddy. If you really want to cut the price of gas,I suggest getting a smaller car.If you have a truck or one of these high class suv's that averages 15 miles to the gallon then you can step down to the level of the average class person and get an economy mid size car that gets 35 to the gallon. That is less than half of what you were paying for gas.I really wish people would open their eyes and see that this is what they are trying to do.Auto makers are making big bucks from people buying smaller cars which means more tax dollar for the government. They are pushing this and this is what it is coming to so you better hurry while the small cars are still priced low enough for the average family.

The idea been thrown around... President Regan put a extra 10 cent tax on a gallon of gasoline during his term in office. That adds up to billions of dollars. Not a few but a lot of money. I could research it, so could you. If it's taken off the gas tax you can be sure it will be added somewhere else.

ok..say for instance..you own a 2004 Lincoln Town Car Cartier Classic..and your gas tank is 19 gallons...and you live in Fairfax,Virginia...which has 7% sales tax...and the Average price for Premium fuel is $3.30 a gallon...it'll cost you $67.08 to fill it up..and the gas only cost..$62.70..and tax was $4.39...so even if they cut the sales tax on fuel..it wont save you much...

Soon enough gas prices will start to drop, along wit hthe demand. There are water powered engines, but they're not open to the public, and I don't think the government has used them yet.

you cant sue some1 for making profits and you know the government is in on it that's why its taken them so long to investigate its been a long time since prices went up from .98/gal and the only reason they are starting to do something about it because too many ppl are saying things about it

make the need for gas decline..that is to say, make american cities like european cities and then there wont be as much demand for gas so the price can fluctuate

wishful thinking. the government would never CUT taxes... maybe raise them or keep them the same but not lower them or take them away. Nice dream though.

if they did that then the roads would fall a part

if you want to save money with gas slow down, ever five mph slower you go you get around five percent better mpg

There have been states that have done this or discussed it at times, but this is definitely not a national thing nor is it even very common.
