use a rich day moisturiser for dry skin and wait 10 minutes so it doesn't smear with your foundation, use an age defying foundation to stop your skin drying out any further, use a cream blush and eyeshadow but not too much eyeshadow as it will crease. Do make sure you wash your skin at night and use a rich night cream

Use an astringent followed by a moisturizer designed for dry skin! Then, you should be able to use any kind of cream-to-powder compact for makeup.

You need a serious moisture booster!
I have a few suggestions...
I use DERMALOGICA products... they are fantastic.
http://www.dermalogica.com
Multivitamin power recovery mask!
skin hydrating booster (works with your favorite moisturizer)!
intensive moisture mask!
Check these products out!
If your skin is dehydrated the makeup is not going to sit right on your face.
If you have never had a facial I suggest you have one - something to exfoliate and get rid of dead surface cells.
Makeup needs a good "foundation" to sit on and not look flaky. You should condition your skin before you think about wearing any makeup.

The least amount of it you can get by with. Guys appreciate that a lot. As for brand names, Max-Factor has the most solid reputation in the industry. Just go to the counter and ask.
