"Gas" are air pockets caused by either swallowing air or your stomach acid reacting with something you've eaten.

So in order for a ghost to "pass gass", it would need to swallow air or digest food.

Ghosts have never needed to breath so swallowing air is out, nor would they eat, so I doubt a ghost could pass gass.

ghost is not a real ghost, the real form is a subtantial (in many book of religion said it was created by a fire). they can change to any form they want. the form can't still for long time, because they need energy just like human. but they have a real still form that you didn't want to see...
if they form to gass or air, it's possible. even they can formed to mind of human.
