i have a belkin router and my wireless internet is slow. can anyone tell me why.

my neighbors internet is fast and there on cahnnel 6 and i'm on channel 11 and all my neighbors are on channel 6.

How do i change the channel.

there could be plenty of reason one is that you are too far from the router, and the other is that you might have it open and you might be sharing your connection and too many people are using the connection by downloading stuff, if that is the case go to the link below and take back your connection...

There is more than one possible reason. Is the wireless computer far from the router? Is there something big in the way, like a refrigerator? Another common reason is because your neighbors also have wireless routers, and they may be using the same wireless channel (there are 11 channels). You could change the channel that your Belkin router uses and see if that helps.

At one time I had the same router. The problem was who you are getting the signal from. It took me a about a minute to get on, but once I was on it was faster that dial up.

If your house uses 2.4ghz wireless phones, it interferes with the router's performance. Try using 5.2ghz phones.

its fast and i love it...its fast enough for me...it depends upon the signal that i am getting....
