Why do so many Europeans (other than the Brittish) have their heads stuck in the sand over this most recent Hezbollah-Israeli war?
Has it been so long ago that they have forgotten who Adolph Hitler was?
Is history not taught in European schools?
Do Europeans not understand what facism is?
Would Europeans rather have cheap fuel and speak Arabic than have their freedom?
Is there any way to wake the Europeans up?

I would think that after the Madrid subway bombings and other incursions on their own soil, the Europeans would be willing to put their obvious anti-semetism aside for just long enough to see the Mid East for what it is today and realize they have a target on their backs, again.

But, then of course, they weren't able to do so when Hilter was on the rise. Apparently the same myopic mentality is pervasive again.

Your thoughts?

I agree with you, and I really do not understand it. It must be due to a lack of a real education - nothing else explains it.

I think the world has about had it from the actions of the UK and the US in the last 6 years. The last thing they want to deal with is the Hezbollah-Israeli war. Although, it is shame that this conflict has occured even though it was almost unavoidable. The US and the UK have their head rapped up in the War on Terriorism which I found rather ridiculous since there are terriorist all over the world (sad, but true) and to pinpoint the blame on a group of people is just a sign of ignorance.

If I had the ability, I would try everything in my given power to eliminate the judgements and hatrid in this world that causes terror.

Students here in the US aren't even concerned about the rest of the world from what I've observed for the last I don't know how many years in school. I guess I'm lucky in the way that I like to read about the rest of the world and go exploring whenever I can.

This probably didn't answer your questions any but its better than none I suppose.

My feeling is that Israel's response has been inappropriate, especially their targeting of civilian areas (e.g. roads, airports, etc...) that have nothing to do with Hezbollah. One need only look at non-combatant casualties to see that Israel is killing Lebanese at an alarming rate (estimated civilian casualties vary between 477-833) while 31 Israeli citizens are confirmed dead. Now I am in no way a Hezbollah sympathizer, but I truly feel that Israel's response has been completely inappropriate.

Secondly, I absolutely can't stand the argument that criticizing the Israeli government is congruent to anti-semitism. Personally, I think this is a classic straw-man argument akin to the argument: "If you don't support the Iraq war you don't support the troops". It simply is not true, you're only twisting an argument into something you can easily deflate.

Finally, Hezbollah is not Nazi Germany. Simply because Hitler hated Jews and Hezbollah does too does not make them one in the same. Furthermore, Hezbollah's ability to even attempt what the Nazis tried is very much in question. So once again you're making a false parallel.

My advice is to actually think critically about the situation and stop making straw-man arguments.

Interesting observation and comparison. Too bad they don't give points for questions. Yours deserves some. No most nations (or people for that matter) do not wake up until they feel their throats being cut. By then, of course, it's too late.

One surefire way to get the sand out of their right ear, is for me to take my foot off the left side of their head at the beach, but I won't - but not until the tide comes up.

The answer is,One massive sand blaster. Put all their heads side by side, with nothing more than sand in those heads you could do thousands, maybe millions with one good blast of compressed air.
