Just because you give a warning ahead of time does that free you from killing innocent people? The leaflets warn that citizens should leave their homes before bombs come, is that fair? This is war not a commercial for Israel the nice guy.

to dfreshman I don't think Hezballah has a plane to do any dropping from or if they do it wouldn't be airborn too long with the sophisticated jets the Israel airforce has. their leader did say today that if Israel withdrew then they would not fire missiles at an Israel town.

to mikis 1967 You mean after the Hezballah fire the rockets they are going to hang around and smoke a few cigarettes to celebrate? By the time Israel gets the co-odinates and arranges a bomb drop the Hezballah are gone so who are you going to kill? answer civilians.

Why is it not OK that they drop leaflets but it is OK for Hezbollah to hid amongst Women and Children? Office themselves in Hospitals and in Highly populated neighborhoods?
I guess just Israel is bad and not the terrorist who hide and drag women and kids in as shields. Welcome to the propaganda war, and you are one of it's victims.

Dropping of leaflets was just a drama by the Israeli Government to show the world that they are doing the best they can to avoid civilian casualties. Hezbollah is a militant group termed as Terrorist Organisation by the USA, but Israel is a responsible member of the International Community.
One can't expect more from a stamped terrorist organisation, but to respond in the same manner (Even worse) by a responsible member is very bad & I personally believe should be criticized by all the civilized people of the world.
Shamefully many of my Yahoo friends here are supporting the genocide

The fact that Israel dropped leaflets telling people to leave doesn't free them at all from the responsibility of killing civilians, especially when those civilians have no means of escaping. Those being killed are the old, the young the sick and the poor. They have no choices about how to escape the bombing, only that of hiding in shelters and praying.
It is just a way of Israel trying to justify their actions so that they can turn round and say 'but we told you'.

The law of war does authorize a combatant, who has given fair warning, to bomb civilian areas for which they have evidence that the areas are being used for military purposes. The Hezbos use these areas because they know that Israel will be reluctant to shot back and the public will be outraged. Keep in mind that you might be reading this in Japanese or German if the US had avoided all civilian targets in WWII.

When the terrorists are firing rockets from a mobile trailer parked next to an apartment building they have a right to take out the rockets. It is the TERRORISTS fault. They are cowards that hide behind woman and children and shoot. A country (just like a person) has a right to defend themselves.

No it doesn’t!!!
It is all well and good that Israel is telling people to leave, but it’s a bit bloody late once all the exits have been cut off! Where are the Lebanese supposed to go to? I haven’t heard the Israelis inviting them to go to Israel.
Cut all the crap… All the leaflets are doing is wasting paper, and littering the environment! Make the Israelis go and pick up all the paper, then perhaps they might stop dropping the leaflets. Make them drop ‘flowers’ instead of bombs, and one day, we might just have peace!

It doesn't excuse what happened, but it does give weight to the Israeli claim that they are doing the best they can to avoid civilian casualties.
Unlike their opponents Hezbollah (the bad guys), who are doing everything they can to increase the number of civilian casualties (Israeli and Lebanese).
War is a tragedy. And the fact the civilian casualties are inevitable in war is the most tragic part of all.

Face it! Hezbollah are cowards and using innocents to hide behind. It is THEIR fault so many die...
Israel is trying to be compassionate to the innocent. Give 'em a break...they DID NOT start this war.
Even today Cana has been proven a trumped-up charge....
there are always victims in a war.........Lebanon has no choice as you saw their tune change, but to go w/Hezbollah as they are ruling by terror........
May God have mercy on them all..........

Hezbolla launches 200 missles a day indiscriminately. You can't be this naive or are you just anti-semitic? It's unfortunate that any civillians have to die. But when one side is launching missles from civillian areas and the other side targets those launch sites people are going to die.
