for many many years planes and boats would mysteriously disappear.. and everyone would think its something paranormal
but recently i've been seeing artiles where they have found methane gas in the ocean releasing into the air. even just 1% in the air can bring down a small aircraft and boat.
i think it was on myth busters too

It's called The Bermuda Triangle, because one of the apices (corners) of the triangle is located at the island of Bermuda. It has a reputation in common and urban legend, because what seems to some people like an unusual number of ships and aircraft have been lost out there over the years.
Actually there is a hazard in the Bermuda Triangle area that is well understood among well-informed seamen and pilots that frequent the area, but is not well known to the general public. That is, the Triangle represents an area in which three major oceanic climate systems converge. The result is that air masses are unusually likely to come together there, and strong high pressure centers are common in the area.
The result is that the winds are often quite calm there, and the sea can be glassy and still for days on end. When this happens, the sea reflects the sky and the horizon can become invisible. This makes it almost impossible for a sea captain to determine his position using a sextant, and it means that a pilot can find him/herself in instrument flight conditions without warning on a perfectly clear day.
That is, you can fly away from a Caribbean island where you were flying by reference to the ground, and in a few minutes find yourself unable to tell up from down. If you are not trained in instrument flight, this can cause disorientation, vertigo, and panic. This phenomenon accounts for most of the "mysterious" disappearanced of aircraft in the Triangle area.
There is nothing spooky or supernatural about it, and UFOs are not involved. That was just to sell books. The preventive measure is just to get your Instrument Rating before you fly in that area. Even on a sunny clear day. Especially on a sunny, clear day.
Similar problems can arise for sailors, though less often. You can be becalmed and become disoriented. Sometimes it can be hard to believe your compass, and you will sail in circles. People have starved to death, gone crazy, gotten caught in storms, and in other ways discovered the unforgiving nature of the sea.
Again, nothing mysterious, supernatural, or pseudoscientific about it. Just plain old risk and error, exacerbated by an odd set of meterological conditions. The preventive measure is experience and several types of direction indication devices. GPS is a lifesaver, and be sure you have at least two radios and extra power sources.
Then go for it. The perimeter of the Triangle includes some of the most beautiful places on earth!

I just looked into the Bermuda Triangle recently and basically nothing to date. Years ago (can’t remember year) but a bunch of ships and aircraft disappeared and was never heard from again.
