What means the name of the band Fall Out Boy?

I readed that the name of the band reportedly came from when the band asked the audience at a college show what they should be called, and an audience member yelled out "Fallout Boy," the name of superhero Radioactive Man's sidekick on the animated TV show The Simpsons. However, the band reports that the name Fall Out Boy is not a reference to the cartoon character. Then i want to know if someone knows what really means

All that is true...an audience member suggested it, as a reference to the character in the Simpsons. However, they have to say its not a reference to the cartoon character so they don't get the pants sued off of them...also the reason why they changed it from Fallout Boy to Fall Out Boy.
