mine is right at 100 Kbps. more than twice as fast as my old stuff. and you can't beat the price. I don't know what my connection speed is.

It's going to be about 10 times faster than dial up. I used to have that type of speed with SBC a while back, and I think I was able to download at 80KB/s.
Although 80KB/s isn't that fast in today's terms, anything beats dial-up. Instead of Verizon, also look at packages with AT&T Yahoo! (formerly SBC Yahoo!). The package I have right now is like $22/month for the "pro" package. My download speeds get up to 300KB/s (or about 2.5Mbps). The "express" package is even cheaper around $15/month and is faster than Verizon.
