It should be what's your heart/emotion feel.
You know, when I am sad/down I will have the same feeling.

Light symbolizing good, happiness, and knowledge.
Darkness symbolizing bad, unhappiness, and ignorance.

Those I agree with. They are the balancing forces that (with of course a slight grey area, that i won't elaborate on here) make up the world, opposites, good and bad. You must have one to truly appreciate the other.

But the cave, I have a slight disagreement with. A cave means that it is a secluded place with -something- unknown outside. I suppose that in a way this is true if you are speaking in terms of the universe and galaxy being the unknown. But the symbol of the cave, and the thinking and developments that come from therein...well, i guess that is an accurate symbol of the world. IT just isn't becoming, or we don't like admitting that there is something beyond our control that we don't know about. Everyone is all about control. So yes, I suppose that in fact the world could be seen as a cave.

I however personally do not feel trapped without either darkness or light. Speaking symbolically: At times in my life, I have felt helpless and in the dark, but there has always been a recover and revelation with light.

hhhmmmmm. sounds a bit socratic or aristotelian? in any event, perhaps the vast majority of us are in fact staring at the reflections cast by firelight upon cave walls. (as opposed to actually viewing the true reality)

"without light or darkness"

i feel like that's a really obvious statement--there is good in bad in the world. stop trying to sound prophetic and wise...you're not.

Things can only cause us pain and lonlieness if we let them - look around you - we will always find someone who has to cope with more than we do. Smile - smile as much as you can - it helps, it really does.
