Life is full of ups and downs .. Sometimes things happen in your life that is unbearable for example losing your whole entire family , war, incurable disease and etc. This is world can be really cruel sometimes but I dont think suicide is the answer . Suicide is wrong because your life is not just yours . By killing yourself , you are changing so many other lives ,I am sure there is someone out there who loves you deeply or will love you . If you have depression problem just look around and find what is bothering you the most . Take a week off from work or school and travel , go somewhere else and think about your life . Post your problem on the web and try to get some answer from others . Hear others stories and problems they have in their lives . I am coming from a very messed up family ,and an abusive childhood that is still hunting me . I deal with depression every day but I refuse to take pills that dose nothing but make a zumbie out of me . I try to go to the gym as often as I can and try to make friends and not to stay alone at home .There are days that I really dont want to live anymore but I know I have to continue on . Sweetie suicide is wrong and we all leave this world one day so we better not rush into it ...

It's not that 'People consider suicide wrong,' it was the Church (and thus the people - or ‘Society‘ - taking up the correct posturing attitude over these matters) who claimed it as wrong ...as in 'You are not supposed to take the life that God gave you.' Hence, the bodies of suicides were never buried in consecrated ground.

As for suicide 'being or showing weakness,' maybe it's a greater pointer to the 'level of fear.'
Then again, maybe it demonstrates the level of 'absence of hope.' It all depends on the perspective of the person in that situation at the time (something like the glass being half empty - or half full).

Personally, I pity the people who can feel no pity, can feel no empathy, who lack compassion or even demonstrate an understanding and just see things only in black and white - as in the dogma of 'kick ash simplicity.'

Some have suggested that this philosophy is for those who can only see and handle the simplicity of the single 'simple minded' viewpoint, though I'm unsure of that!

I'm not sure. Suicide is most painful for the loved ones left behind, who often spend years feeling guilty and confused about it. But people who smoke 3 packs a day are also committing suicide - just slowly, so we allow that.

I'm not sure why we draw such a distinction.

NOOoooooo.....it's OK. The main reason for many of the ills on this planet is too many people. Therefore those who want to commit suicide should be helped and praised. The same with suicide bombers, so long as they only blow themselves up. Reduce the population!!!

Suicide is definitely not cowardly. It is painful!
But the biggest pain it leaves behind is to those who remain. Therefore in our anger and frustration at not being able to control somebody else's decision and perhaps deflect them from it,we put the blame squarely on the victim.
My husband whose work used to involve processing crimes, used to rant about suicides because they gave him hours of ( to him) pointless work as the victim was also the villain;which kind of sums suicide up!.

Because it shows how big of a coward you are.
Kill yourself and you won`t have to do this, see that, have this,
or anything else. Or, I`ll show them, I`ll kill myself and then they will be sorry.
Too bad that isn`t the way it is. Kill yourself and everyone will
see that you couldn`t handle "life". or what you made of it. You
didn`t respect yourself or love yourself, you didn`t care about
yourself. And you want others to?
It is wrong because you do not belong to yourself, you belong to
God and you cannot see the future. You do not know if things
will change, get better, etc you want to be a god and do what
you want, when you want, because you have no faith that God
will take you through your darkest hour. When you believe in
yourself, you know there is nothing else. When you believe that
God will provide relief, refuge, etc, then you know things will
get better.

I think the whole of society is to blame for suicide, not simply the person who commits it, as it's society on the whole that makes us who we are. Many people say things are wrong if they fear them or cannot understand them. People need to have more compassion.

Suicide is prohibited in Islam because taking life is Godly Function ,be it your own or some body's else. When you try yo take it ,you are equating yourself to God which is unforgivable.Secondly you have one life in this world ,do not waste it that way.
