For the money, it's a good computer. However, it's definitely long in the tooth, though. It's processor is 2 generations old. It's about 5 years old. It will work with Netzero. The newest software for Apple won't work with it because the new Apple's use Intel chips instead of IBM PowerPC chips.

Here are the specs for it:

The Apple iBook "500" features a 500 MHz PowerPC 750cx (G3) processor with a 256k on-chip level 2 cache, 64 MB or 128 MB of RAM (1.), a 10.0 GB or 15.0 GB Ultra-ATA hard drive (2.), either a 24X CD-ROM drive, an 8X DVD-ROM drive, an 8X/4X/24X CD-RW drive (7, 8, 9, A, H, I.), and 2X-AGP ATI Rage Mobility 128 graphics acceleration in an ultrasleek case that is smaller and lighter than previous iBooks, with an improved 12.1" TFT XGA active-matrix display. The Apple iBook "500" includes the same "AirPort" wireless networking, FireWire port and AV port as earlier iBook models, but adds a second USB port, a RGB output port, a built-in microphone, and stereo speakers. Models shipped after October 16, 2001 also ship with a smaller power adapter, and models shipped after January 7, 2002 shipped with MacOS X as the default operating system.

It is an Apple, and not a PC. Which means that many of the Microsoft programs will not work. Almost all programs are compatible with PCs, but not with Apples.

It will connect through NetZero.

Gainsaver is an ok, but not fantastic site.

This will be a bare minimum computer, you might resent it later when you want it to do more than the basic.

No, that's an awful laptop. Small HDD, not much RAM (what I'm assuming the 320 is representing), and it's a few years old. Definitely not a good investment if you want to still be using this laptop like next year.

it was good about 3 years ago when it came out. The hard drive is small and the processor is kind of slow. It depends what you want to do with it. Its a great price

It's a Macintosh. I don't think NetZero runs on Macs, although I wouldn't swear to it. You might check NetZero support on their website and see.

Save your money. Yes it will work but very old. Apple is up to G5 systems. If you don't mind an old system that will be limited ok but I would save up and get a newer one.
