Do you mean that the Doctor tried to do a pap on you and it came back without any cells on it? If they do not do the technique appropriately they do not get any cells or enough cells for a reading. If you mean, that you may be anatomically unable to have a pap smear, there are other ways to see if you have cancer. I'm just wondering why you are thinking of only cervical cancer? They can do a pelvic ultrasound and make sure there are no cysts, masses, lesions or tumors in the pelvic area. This will include the area of your ovaries, uterus and cervix. Also, there is a blood test they can do to see if you do have cancer. The test does not tell the Doctor where the cancer is, it just tells you that you do or do not have cancer. If it is positive, the Doctor will know to "look" for the cancer and find it for treatment.

I don't think that you would have cerival cancer if the doctor couldn't take the pap. Were you on your period because if so then they probably wouldn't be able to take a swab? I think in order for you to have cervical cancer the doctor must actually take a swab of your cervix so that they can test it for cancer.

What do you mean by can't take? They can't take it during your period, they advise against taking it the day after sex, etc, so if you answered any of these questions in the consultation, the doctor might make you wait a few days.

Not neccesarily. That happens to me sometimes. The doctor will try to pry it open, but the tool will they use will be too big to get it in there. I guess that means that the vagina is tight, which is a good thing.

Did'nt your Dr. tell you why he cant take a papsmear? Also, I would venture to say no, or he would have told you so, right? But to put your Mind at ease go and talk with your Dr. about your fear.

I don't think so. I had one time I had to go back again. I think it was a combination of my own tension and the doctor being somewhat ineffectual.
