After my husband & I have sex, i get a very fishy odor "down there". There is no discharge or itching, just a bad odor. It doesnt go away immediately after I shower either. Does anyone know what it could be?? Please only serious answers. Thanks!

I agree that it might be an infection of some sort... especially if this is something that's only happened recently (ie, you haven't had this your entire life).

I had the same problem with my ex, I would have to take a shower right after we had sex. If I feel asleep after sex in the morning my bed would smell like a fish market, I would be so embarrassed...need less to say It didn't stop I just washed more. I got checked out and had NO INFECTION! I have been with my husband for 6 years and we don't have that problem at all! I have changed my diet I am a vegetarian and my husband is very clean. My ex was clean but some days would not wash like he should. I believe it could be from several things, from infections bacterial and/or viral, to diet, or cleanliness, this could be yourself or your husband, I advise to check everything.........It could be from the Birth control...I too was on it when I was experiencing this, and now I am not haven't been for several years.

Firstly, do not douche! As any sex ed instructer in grade school will tell you, it only increases infections. I would say, there are two possibilities. The most unlikely is that you have just drastically changed your diet and are not eating healthily. When you don't eat healthy you smell bad down there. That smell would be stronger after you've had sex. Secondly, most likely, you have an infection. See a physician!

DON'T DOUCHE! This causes infection to shoot up into your uterus and you can get Pelvic Inflamatory disease. Your body's vaginal discharge is meant to cleanse your vagina. Sometimes the smell can take a few hours or a couple of days to go away.
If the smell lasts longer go to the doctor to rule out infection. But don't ever ever douche...did I say that yet?

smell then probably, a mixture of your vaginal discharge and sperm, which you feel a fishy odor. if it continously, then you consult a doctor in your area
