I like some of these guys better than Lackey, but I'd pick the third duo. I like having righty-lefty, and Liriano is just so unhittable, and will keep getting better. You do have some great duos on here, and I had a hard time choosing between the first three.
Halladay is great, but Beckett, has been injured and inconsistent throughout his career, and was bombed by Cleveland tonight. Also, if you want to be picky, Jered Weaver is a sidearmer. Once he has been around the league a few times, hitters will start to figure him out, particularly lefties. As long as he throws hard, he will be tough on right handed hitters, but lefties will have a better shot.

Tough call, I'd rather just take Johan Santana and Liriano since they're already on the same team, but I'll go with the third group. Lackey is great and Liriano is so good and so young... he's got a great future ahead of him.
By the way, briansacow... nice choice, 1/2 of your duo has gone 0-8 the last 2 games with 4 strikeouts. Good thing Cleveland was feeling generous last night.

No doubt, I would want Jered Weaver and Justin Verlander. I would like Brandon Webb and Verlander but Weaver will do just fine. These guys are young and have nasty stuff. I would love to see those two headlining my pitching staff. However, I think that they will have to pitch on separate teams forever in the real world and their true team potential together will never be realized.

Roy Halliday and Josh Becket they are proven. The other combinations are too young.
