I'm not a sports fan(atic) or obsessed of any activity/hobby but I do appreciate the merit of baseball. It is all about teamwork and just plain fun and it has a very great history. I hope you will at least stay open to the basic game. Why not take time out to see a game or play with friends once in a while or join an informal community team. If you do join in or attend a game often enough, you will eventually get wrapped up in the excitement.
There's that saying " Don't knock it till you try it." Try it. You might like it...

If you mean "gay" as in lame, I vote for soccer--diving, whining, no goals, no action and played by metrosexuals.
I highly doubt anyone would call Big Papi a metrosexual let alone a lameass.
