Hell no. The best any agent can do is send you up for a role; no reputable agent would ever say that he or she could get you a role.

Secondly, I'll bet he wanted up front money to do it. NO REPUTABLE AGENT WORKS THAT WAY! They'll either sign you on , allow you to freelance using their name, or tell you to go away. In all cases, they don't take money from you UNTIL YOU BOOK THE JOB!

So, run as fast as you can in the other direction. If you gave him any money, stop payment on the check. This guy is out to screw you.

You "Contacted" an agent? You didn't meet with him at his office? You don't have a working relationship with this agent? You don't know crap about him? He doesn't have a clue whether or not you can act your way out of a paper bag... yet he says he can get you that one specific role?

Dude... do you even know what an agent does, or how this business works?

What should you do? What? You don't have the first idea about what it takes to land a role (and what ever this stupid role is, it's in a film that would be highly selective as regards the actors cast in any role... even Fenrir Gayback... or what ever the hell this mouse man is)... you want to know what to do?

Don't give this "Agent" any money...

He can 'get you' a role? Not likely man, sorry. Most of the adult actors in Harry Potter movies are British or European experienced actors. Many are Shakespearean trained and well known in their theatrical circles. Ask him how he plans to guarantee you this role. Ask him if he is a SAG licensed agent. If he's not, then run the other way. Unless you are Anthony Hopkins hiding behind that avatar, it is highly suspicious to me that anyone would make that promise.

An agent cannot get you a role. The best he/she could do is submit your name to the producers/casting director for the film. The role in the film would be cast by the director. I wouldn't trust an agent who told me that- no way.

Is he a SAG franchised agent? An agent CANNOT get you a role in any movie, you the actor, audition, for the role, and the producer, director, etc., select the best actor for the job.

What is his name? Which city? I can find out if he is a SAG franchised talent agent.

No way. They are not going to give anything more than a walk-on role to someone with no experience.

The agent is probably lying, hoping to get you to pay some "fees" ... he'll take your money and you'll never hear from him again.

NO contract
NO cash
did you audition?
is it based on merit?
contacts only get you so far

he can get you the role... what does that mean?
get you an audition?
get you through w/ the director?
give you the role?
what?

I wouldn't trust it. You usually have to have an audition for something like that.
