It is very very safe IF you have light skin and dark hair. The way that the laser works is killing the hair follicle by the color difference. It isnt as easy is light hair or dark skinned people.

For some people it is quite painful, for others its not at all.

As long as you are going to a physicians office to have the treatment done and the person doing the treatment is a qualified laser technician, it's very safe and very effective. Just follow their instructions. But of course with any advanced procedures, there is always risk involved.

My mom was going to get it done, and they tested a small part on her hand and she got a sort of dark spot...they told her some people just cant take it. my mom has dark skin though, so that might have something to do with it.
tell them to test it on a small section first just to make sure!
