I do believe the best movie I have ever seen and a personal favourite is 'All About Eve'. Made in the year 1950, it starred Bette Davis and Anne Baxter - I love this movie for its dialogue, plot and it's truly stellar climax :)
Of later movies, I thought "Mr. Holland's Opus" starring Richard Dreyfuss, was endearing.
