Babies cry because something is wrong. Take him in to the pediatrician, get him checked. My oldest son did this (at a younger age), it turned out to be food allergies. Good luck.

Oh Honey. If you've been to your doctor and ruled out illness, teething or any other medical issue that is diagnosable right now then maybe it's time to take a look at yourself and daddy. And I mean this in a good way. We see ourselves in our children and sometimes what we forget is that if we are sensitive people then the odds are our children are sensitive people. Do you (meaning parents) handle crouds well? Do you like bright lights or dislike loud noises? Think about the more subtle things that you like, dislike, and that effect you. There are odds that your child could be suffering from nothing more than a little bit of over load. Follow your gut, pay attention to any consistancies or inconsistancies when he cries. MOST IMPORTANT FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS! You know your child better than anyone else. If he is heavy and you want to get somthing done try moving your project to the living room floor, dim the lights lay a large comforter on the floor with a couple pillows, unimposing or familiar toys, maybe some laundry and your little guy. If you have difficulty with getting him to bed you can try to work up to spending some of this time in his room. Start with short periods of time same set up in his room work on projects bills, tv etc. then work up to longer times then slowly work him into the bed. While he's getting used to the space you can work your way out of the room and (I hate to say it) one week at a time. If he wakes up DO NOT immediately jump up and take him out. Just stand or sit next to the bed and hold his hand or rub his face or just sit near by until he realizes you're not going to leave. Again follow your gut. If it's not something a doctor can figure out then you need to do what is best for YOU AND YOUR CHILD. Do not let ANYONE intimidate you or make you feel as though your judgement is not good enough. SOME CHILDREN CRY A LOT! And there is nothing you can do about it. Do your best and enjoy him even if he is crying. Talk to him and tell him you understand. And as hard as it is try not to let the crying get to you because he can feel it. It's Ok if he cries that does NOT MEAN YOU ARE A BAD MOM!

You can't make him stop. You have to find out what is wrong with him and fix the problem then he won't have a reason to cry. Hopefully you have a pediatrician you can call. Could be many things....check for fever, check for new teeth (get orajel and tylenol and a wash cloth to chew on) could be a rash irritating him, could be a tummy ache (what are you feeding him). could be constipation. There are so many normal things it could be. My best guess is cutting teeth.

Something is wrong. Ask the pediatrician to check him over. For your own peace of mind, get a copy of Baby and Childcare by Dr. Benjamin Spock. It is the best baby care book ever written and has saved many mothers from going nuts.

If he has always been like that, and physical causes have been ruled out, then he may be a high needs child.
http://askdrsears.com/html/5/T050400.asp is a site that 'defines' a high needs baby and gives good advice on how to get through it.
My daughter is almost 2, and I swear she cried and screamed through her entire first year. She's still a handful, though things have improved a lot.

Maybe he is teething?
How long has he been crying?
Have you tried giving him something to chew on or giving him teething meds or Tylenol?
Could he have an ear infection?
I assume you've checked to see if he is hungry or needs changed?

He could be teething... My daughter did the same thing at that age... Buy him one of those teething rings and put it in the freezer... Let him bite on it and if that doesn't stop ask a doctor...

maybe u should consult your doctor because if he's crying when u hold him then he could be in pain. he can't talk to let u know what's hurting so it would be best to talk with the doctor of the child.

Maybe be he has gas, which is pretty painful for babies. You can get infant gas drops over the counter at wal-mart, target, or any drug store. Mylicon is one brand name. Simethicone is the generic drug name, and the store brands are much cheaper.
