As the others have stated, it was ABC. Walt was desperate for funding when building Disneyland. One of the companies he turned to was ABC and they agreed, but in return Disney would have to create family programming for them.

Well, this was a media godsend for Walt. He could produce one hour shows for the Network and he had a built-in platform to promote his feature films and his fledgling park. Many early episodes of "The Wonderful World of Disney" featured goings on at the park and new attractions.

Back in the 70's and early 80's, ABC used to air the Wonderful World of Disney.Tinkerbell would open the show and for a while, when he was still head of the company, Micheal Eisner would introduce the movie.

Long before Michael Eisner, Walt Disney hosted the show himself, originally airing on October 27,1954 and it has been on ABC ever since. The original program was called "Disneyland".

ABC.. where I grew up, it was on after the half hour Muppet Show.
