Around the 6th week of pregnancy, she started developing prominent veins all over her legs. Her Doctor advised her that it is more likely due to high levels of hormones. She is fairly active and on her feet most of the time. They look like varicose veins. Have any other women experienced this problem. Did the veins decrease after pregnancy?

Pregnancy increases the pressure in your veins of your lower body both due to hormones and increased pressure from the growing baby. Being on your feet all the time just worsens this and it is good to take regular breaks and prop your feet up to help the return of venous blood from your legs and feet. This will help to some extent with the congestion in the vessels. Most of the time this will get better after delivery of the baby or there would be a whole lot of us Mothers walking around with funky looking legs. She needs to prop up when she can. And take comfort from the fact that many of us have been there too.

I am on my feet all day as part of my job which has led to vericose veins. I haven't heard of the veins going away on their own. Ask doctor. There are procedures to reduce them, just don't know if it will happen on it's own. My guess, probably not.

Yes, and they do get better. Tell her to try rubbing Cocoa Butter on her skin (it works for stretch marks also).
