Do you know what sounds desperate? To take the writings of the rabbis (I. E. Talmud and Medrash.) and use it in an attempt to "prove" that Jesus was the Messiah when those same rabbis never believed that. Not only that, but no Jewish scholar throughout the ages interpreted it to mean as such. Yet, the idea to "data mine " the Talmud for these things is a modern idea with the explicit intent to convince ignorant Jews (I. E. Those who have not studied Talmud or have a good Jewish background) that Jesus is the Messiah. When it is pointed out that their own sources did not view it as such, the only explanation given is that they were blind. It is this patronizing attitude which is prevalent amongst many of these Messianics who participate in these so called debates. One can only assume that they do it to maintain their cognitive dissonance which they must do if they seriously believe that CHRISTIAN beliefs can be labeled JEWISH. Update : I should also note what Suckles is doing. He is making an argument based on what someone on Yahoo Answers claimed and assuming that the person was correct in what he said. In fact, he was told explicitly by myself and others that Paganism, Buddhism, and other non Jewish beliefs were incompatible with Judaism and thus was NOT acceptable. Yet here he is again, making the same argument despite his current knowledge that it is based on a claim that is erroneous. Thus, one can conclude from that that he is either a very poor reader or that he is being deceptive.
