BEIRUT (Reuters) - The leader of Hizbollah warned Israel on Thursday it would fire rockets at Tel Aviv if Israel targeted central Beirut, but offered to stop its rocket barrage if Israel ended attacks on civilian areas in Lebanon

On one hand it seems an offer thats reasonable on the other it's unds like an ultimatum what do you think?

(If) at any time you decide to stop your campaigns on our cities, suburbs, civilians and infrastructure, we won't strike with rockets any settlement or Israeli city ...," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in a taped televised message.

"If you strike Beirut, the Islamic Resistance will strike Tel Aviv and it is able to do so."

It was the group's first direct claim that it had longer-range missiles that can hit the central Israel city, 130 km (80 miles) south of Lebanon.

A senior Israeli military source was swift to react, telling Israel's Channel One television that the Jewish state would destroy Lebanese infrastructure if Tel Aviv was attacked.

It's a bluff. Hezbollah is getting their butts kicked and exactly what they deserve. Israel will not back down from their original plan to destroy (or maybe decimate) Hezbollah. And we should be thankful for that.

When it comes to Mid East peace, Israel has it right! They have been backing off now for years and look at what they get. Kicked in the pants.

Jim has it right. Israel needs a full ground invasion of Lebanon and if necessary a pro-longed occupation. A sort of 'In your face' to the radical Muslims and Syria and Iran. After the threats that have been made recently by Iran, Israel must do it.

Ultimatum. They can't be trusted to follow through on any cease fire agreement. They would probably give the rockets to another terrorist group which would use them to target civilians in Isreal and say, "It's not us that's doing it. Don't blame us." There would be no progress in defending Isreali civilians from their attacks or Lebonese civilians from being used as human shields.
If they are so interested in protecting Lebonese civilains why don't they stop hiding behind them like the cowards they are. They are more responsible for civiilian casualties than the Israelis.

I think they knew in advance that they would get a smack down, and only hoped that public opinion would stop the Israelis and force them to deal with Hezbollah.

Now, the war is costing him more than he expected men and material. At some point the propaganda starts to work against the propagandist. Eventually the down troddin start to look like a bunch of losers, no body wants to join a bunch of losers. He's either looking for a way out, or the puppet masters in Syria and Iran have told him to break it off before they get in line for a smack down.

Hezbollah is trying to stop the fighting without looking weak. If Israel accepts it they will look weak, but would be applauded for ending the fighting. It sounds like an ultimatum disguised as truce to end the conflict...for now.

I think it's an ultimatum because the whole world knows that Hezbollah has been hiding among the civilians. They know for a fact that Israel isn't going to put up with their crap.

Sounds like Hezbollah is hurting and is spreading more propoganda about Israel targeting civilians.

Because that is where the Hezbollah militia is at in the civilian cities..
Of course they want the Israel to stop.

bombs will work. israel needs to go for a full ground invasion and overtake lebanon.

its a plus because eventually usa would have to take out hellbolazh. saves us the ironwork.

Lets crop dust them in pigs blood. They hate pigs so lets spray them with it. Face it they would feel humiliated and un-holy. They would still be alive though so the rest of the liberalist world wouldn't be too upset.
