Do you believe time travel is possible? Think back to the 60s when people though it would take them years to put a man in space. Do you think time travel will be possible in the next century? Let me know what you think.

I know what you're saying. I don't think it is possible, but I'd like to believe that it could be. Wouldn't it be interesting to go back in time and visit your deceased relatives. I had relative I never met on my Dad's side who died of a heart attack in the 1940's. If it was possible the first thing I'd do is travel back to the 1940s and meet him.

for what billy says
i believe part of it
I mean, no you can't get younger, but you cna reverse the time around you

Einstein says that if you move slower than light, time is going forwards
if you move at the speed of light
time seems to be at a stand still with you
so, if going faster than light is possible, then time would seem to go backwards.

This either means that you will get somewhere in less-than-no time
OR it means you will be pulled back to the past kind of like a deja-vu thing, but you didn't lose your memory

I think i have a way of surpassing the speed of light though
If you use multiple high powered lasers and an energy shield (the energy shield is the only problem i have right now)
then you can "latch" yourself on to the light particle moving at extreme speeds
and gradually increase speed untill you reach the speed of light
the Lasers will give you the range for the take-off
once reach the speed of light
to a catapult like launch using the energy shield and launch yourself faster than light
in space, there is nothing to hold you back like gravity or friction (besides planets and space debree which hopefully u can dodge with unlimited time on your hands meaning everything is at a stand still)
Of course this will all be done in space.
Just one problem though
Time is just an illusion.
so really Time Travel will really just be like a replay
Replaying every action in which you want to see.

oh and one more problem.
It may not be too good of an idea to "time travel"
because it would destroy every last bit of the universe
making it crumble and fall into pieces
having Armeggedon come a 2.5 billion years early

There is an interesting theory I heard of in eigth grade. Think of a pizza. Light travels right across it. Now, take a few slices out, and then reconnect the enges of the pizza, so now it looks like a cone without a base. If light travels across the pizza again, if we could find a way to move along the crust at the same, a bit lower, or fast speed, we could go backward in time.

You should read about it. Some of the theories are very interesting. Einstein's theory of relativity is really cool.

I very much doubt it. If it ever did exist, then someone would go back in time and change the past in such a way that time travel would never be invented.

If someone from the future went back and changed our past, then our past is already changed and we have to deal with it. Would you go back and stop the assassination of President Kennedy? If so, and someone would go back and stop the killing, then we would remember that Kennedy wasn't killed.

You also can't say that "People could travel to the past, but wouldn't be allowed to change it." Any student of physics or sociology will tell you that the act of observing changes the thing being observed. Any interaction with the past, however small it might seem, would have increasingly larger consequences as time progressed.

I may be wrong, but I doubt very much that time travel will be possible.

if time travel is possible, then make sure you don't create any enemies at the present time. you'll never have a future if you do...

hypothetically, yes... i believe there's a window to a dimension...

supposing you travel to australia via japan eastward. time shifts and you advance your time, right? thus you leapt in time....

if you're, say, in japan and travel westward, you retract your time does travelling backwards.... you delayed you're activity for several hours...

assuming therefore, on these theories, the calculation is that , there is a very big possibility to adjust the time accordingly. and thus, creating a warp (or a hole) where you can jump into at any time.

scientifically, the computations are limitless and still under scrutiny. because if proven to be done, the repercussions it could create may be a catastrophe for anyone... (imagine killing your enemy or restructuring history or destroying facts of yesteryears)....

It's a nice sci-fi concept but I don't think it would ever be possible.
The reason being that if it was, someone from the future would have shown up already and made an idiot of him/herself.

Wait a minute....Maybe that's how Warren Buffett made so much money in the stock market....He's a time traveler and he knew from the history records what stocks would go up and which would fail. Thats why he gave all his money away to Bill Gates instead of just helping the poor. He felt guilty.

I think it might be possible to jump forward in time... and not just by traveling close to the speed of light. But I do not believe that traveling backwards in time is possible. This , in my opinion would reverse entropy, which I do not feel is possible.

No, I really can't see how it's possible.

Teleportation is more probable.

If time travel were possible, the guys from the future would have already told us.

if the future exists and the ability to travel through time is discovered then people would undoubtedly be traveling back in time. Since that hasn't happened yet, it never will

I really really wish it was, but I honestly don't think it is ever going to really happen. It's too difficult...but who knows? Maybe that's where Black Holes lead. Maybe we are all the future generations of people who traveled forward in time from a really long time ago...Oh, now you've got my imagination going again...lol
