Whilst I do agree that it is too much hassle, it's worth it to put the effort in.

My friend had this theory too and we both ended up applying for the same job once and we were the only two candidates for the job.

I ended up getting it and I knew that my friend hadn't washed before the Interview / on the day yet I had.

You see it's not always just about how qualified you are, it's also about how you present yourself at the Interview too, your body language and other factors.

So you see washing has it's benefits.

:-)

Yes, I often cannot be bothered to wash pots or pans, or laundry, or myself. However I always do do them otherwise I would be naked, hungry and smelly. Very occasionally at weekend I might go more than 24 hours without a shower - it feels so naughty - but more often than not I can have 2 in a day if I've been swimming or at the gym.

I can never, ever be bothered to wash:

- my apartment's windows
- my car

though, and these things I do just let stay dirty.

If washing is too much hassle how do you do anything else?

During the hot weather, this writer toddles across the street and hops into his neighbor's swimming pool because he is too lazy to bathe. I can only get away with this about three times. Your body tells you - hey! Soap, please. But for the first three times, it's like a kind of vacation. Sent to you from Chris, in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.) By the way, I have her permission to use the pool.

Sounds to me like you're depressed and sunk in some kind of funk.

Normal people have respect and love for themselves and others, if not for THE ONE who gave them life first off, and then the other.

There's deeper issues here than personal hygiene. I say this based solely on evidence you provide and this is meant to help, believe it or not, not to upset you.

YOU CAN of course abandon personal care, but as others have mentioned even cats and other animals do it, and if you choose to brutalize yourself in such a way, you'll push yourself into the margin of society. None will want to even be near you. Is it this what you really want ?.

Don' you want JOY and happiness, in your life, really ?

It seems like too much hassle sometimes maybe, but it's worth it.

It's well worth your time and energy to wash. Other wise no one will want to be around you for very long. You might miss out on some good dirty fun with some one if you smell funky. lol

That all depends. What is it that's being washed, who's washing, etc. As a general rule, though, I would think it good to wash, whatever it may be.

...my husband? he suffers from depression, and his smelly feet and armpits are making me depressed. bathing/washing are essential to help perk you up and feel better about yourself. he argues (among many of our varied topics of arguments, which leaves us little time to communicate but, be that as it may) he only needs to wash so that others can reap the benefits of him not being an insult to their sense of smell (he has no sense of smell or taste due to an operation he's had many years ago). so, he's an angry little bugger but i remind him that i, one who loves him, is the only one who bears the brunt of his angry 'couldn't-be-arsed to wash' approach. i sometimes yell at him and stick him in a bath myself, where he shuts up and looks at me with pools of big eyes, pretty much like some puppy dog who needs someone to take over. but then the next day he says i boss him about...why are people like u who don't wash so WRONG in where you divert your anger. why can't you direct it at the source? ...not fair!!!

This squirrel has a shower every day.

I think the skunks would even thumb their noses at you.
