They demonstrate doubt....how could you marry someone and become partners in life with an escape clause?

To be married you need total confidence in each other.

NECESSARY!!!!! I can't emphasize this enough -- too many of either sex PREY openly on the good-will and trust of the other -- and having gone through a VIOLENT, ABUSIVE, and Financially Punishing Divorce (I am FEMALE), I can ASSURE YOU That knowing this, I WILL make sure that my children have a LAWYER available when they get engaged to put a Pre-Nup in place for their OWN PROTECTION (both physical AND Financial!).

NECESSARY -- MUST HAVE -- can't emphasize enough. I do NOT want to see my hard work and labor (after my death) to go to my heirs, to only find out that their spouses were in it for MY Property ONLY!)

This is WHY I LIVE ALONE and WHY I remain a SINGLE PARENT to my two Disabled Children!!!!!!!!!!

I think that it's necessary if you have a lot of assets. I would sign one if a man asked me to. It also protects the one signing so you wouldn't be left with nothing,.

Key thing you said, "in this day and age." With the divorce rate as it is, I think it is extremely important. Especially if you have a large number of assets, interests and liabilities.
