I know you have the urge to meet that friend, but your mom has been around a lot longer and if she has a feeling things won't go well or it's not time for you to date, or whatever, then trust her judgment. Surely you can see other friends your mom approves of.

You need to really (at this point in time) to RESPECT your mother's wishes in this matter, after all, it sounds like you are living in her home, eating her food, and she is supporting you and caring for you.

Your mom has a LOT more experience sizing up individuals, and she is trying to protect you from other kids that may lead you to make some poor choices. That is the role of a parent, and it is a GOOD THING!

Dating is something that takes time and experience. Your mom has more experience. Remember, All the " Listen to your mom" people aren't being rude. They care!
