...like sometimes i am naked and barefoot taking a leak in the public restroom and stepping over the pee puddled floor. i mean, how'd i get in this place, and where are my slippers? also, i often find myself gasping for air and i can't wake myself up for who knows how many seconds (or minutes)... eventually i wake up to remove the pillow or blanket from my face, but only after near-suffocation. Are there any dream-masters here who can control their subconscious self?

the best dream to date... flying (w/o any man-made contraptions)

That's called lucid dreaming and some people are capable of doing so, or they claim they do. My friend tells me that he can control his dreams, it takes quite awhile to get to do this and to tell whether you are in a dream or not, you do a "reality check", like looking at your fingers, see if you have all 5 fingers there and many smalls things like that. After you have realized it's a dream you know you can control and do all sorts of things since you know its not real.

Yes. You can control your dreams; it's called "lucid dreaming", and it's a real trip once you realize what's going on. Look it up to see how other people can do it. It takes some mental practice.

If you are waking up gasping for air, it's probably not the pillow or the blanket on your face. There would have be some pressure applied on them for you to stop breathing. You might have a sleep disorder that causes your throat & the back of your tongue to contort itself during sleep.

Mind and body are connected together.

Sometimes you mind will control your body subconsiously. There is no way to tell when you can over come it. That is why some people have diasease or sleeping disorder or even walk in their sleep.

Normally, we are in a resting stage. Our body should not actively not function. I would consider that is a mental health if your mind controls your body.

Dude, issues. You should be careful when sleeping. You never know when the big bad pillow might pounce. Tonight could be your last night alive. Gulp.

I don't believe that I control my dreams and have never suffocated in my pillow.

Actually, people do claim to be able to control their dreams, but not everyone can. You might want to see a doctor or specialist who studies that. I haven't looked at this site yet, but you might want to read it... http://www.brown.edu/Student_Services/Health_Services/Health_Education/general_health/sleep.htm
As I said, i don't know if it will help you, but it might.
