As your pregancy progresses, your womb expands up to your ribs and into your groin. The womb (and your belly) stretches with the baby. The baby moves around a lot, so it is best to wait till you can feel it moving so your partner knows where to place their hand.
Otherwise, lie on your side, and the baby moves to that side, so it will be easier to locate it.
In the next few weeks, you will know exactly where the baby is. I used to be able to see my baby's feet impression through my belly at 30 weeks and more

At 17 weeks the baby is rather small, only about 8 inches long and about 9 ounces in weight. When you have your ultrasound, which is usually done at or around 20 weeks, the technician can tell you where the baby is located in your uterus. I doubt the baby is right under you ribs though. Most likely lower in your abdomen. Don't worry, pretty soon that baby will let you know exactly where he/she is!

the womb is your uterus, which grows along with the baby. of course it extends to your ribs, at 17 wks your probably not that big yet. and also the baby is pretty little, you probably cannot feel it yet. basically the baby is maybe the size of a can of coke if that floating around. give it some time and you will feel it by just putting your hand on your tummy.

Yes, it is possible that your baby will tuck him/herself in that area at times, as he/she grows, it will get more painful and noticeable where your baby is at, mainly the pain is from the ribs. But right now, you are not that far along, so the baby isn't big enough for you to feel in your ribs.

Its probably gas if you feel movement by your ribs. Your intestines and stomache get pushed up the more your "womb" grows. When I first felt my children moving it was my lower stomach. Much where I'd say my bladder is.

at 17 weeks, your partner won't probably feel the baby yet. wait until you are on your 24-28 weeks, ask him to put his hands on top of your belly while the baby is moving. you can even see your tummy making waves!

They baby at that stage is usually just below yuor belly button. In a few weeks you'll start to feel movement. It feels like gas at first, but then you'll feel it more. Congrats and Good luck.

Yes it is possible to feel it in your ribs....I am a guy but my mother told me that when she was pregnant with me i used to hook my heels on her bottom rib and stretch. She said it hurt really bad. So, I'm assuming she's not lying to me.
