They SUCK!!! Ya know why? they dont play WMA files. All other mp3 players do. mp3 files play at 128 kbps. wma files play at 64 kbps. if u have a 1 GB mp3 player, itll hold twice as many songs in wma format than it will in mp3 or any other format. now i already said ipods dont support wma files. so i conclude that ipods hold half as many songs as any other mp3 player. so a 60 GB ipod holds 15,000 songs. a 60 GB mp3 player that supports wma files would hold 30,000 songs. so if u want more music, dont get an ipod.

A WMA at 64 kbps would sound okay but not as good as an MP3 at 128 Kbps. WMA is not the only way to go apple has their own format which is similar to WMA called ACC that works with the ipod and is comparable to WMA.

You hit the nail right on the head, as did guy from britain. A co-worker of mine got one for Christmas and he ended up having to burn and re-rip HUNDREDS (if not more) songs that he already bought from Musicmatch because they were in WMA format, which iPods won't play. That's why I'll never buy one, since a lot of my music comes from Napster, which is also WMA.

I've been happy with both the SanDisk that I bought on "Black Friday" and the RCA Lyra that I won from a radio promotion.

i couldn't agree with you more, i dont understand why so many people have them. Ipods suck, they are ****!!! i bought an iPod when i earned $300 dollars almost none of my files, music, or videos were compatible. you have to buy extra software to make them compatible. you have to use the slow *** computer charger becuase they dont supply you with an AC charger plus iPods become vegetables after a while. after being rejected multiple times by apple's customer service i returned it and bought the creative zen vision M (http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/zen... ) best move i ever made. it plays all my files. it doesnt make you use their software, it will last forever and if not creative will replace it unlike apple. it shows up on the my computer menu and you can just drag-and-drop anything you want and it'll play it flawlessly.

Um dude, they can play WAV files. If you download an easy cd-da extractor, you can reduce WAV files even smaller than 64 kbps... I have a nano that holds around 1000 songs..
