I hate wal-scum!!! I refuse to give them my money and or patronage. They sell junk at prices that are only slightly lower, if lower at all, than anywhere else. There plan from the begining was to lure people in with a super low price on a few items then sell them everything else at prices equal to competiotors. They are the largest retail chain in the world and use that to screw their suppliers out of money. example they approached Dryer's ice cream co. with the proposition of buying buying their ice cream at a cost that is actually less than it costs Dryer's to make it. Hence Dryer's is losing money on the deal. Wal-Mart then turns a huge profit by selling it at a price that is lower than their competitors. Dryer's has to charge more in all other locations to come out ahead and stay in business. this is screwing the public in the end. I know they are in the business to make money but they are forming a monoply. Monoplies are illegal and will be regulated by the government. but when you have as much clout and money as Wal-Mart you are above the government or they are in your pocket. If America doesn't wake up soon then we might all work for Wal-Mart someday? Not to mention Wal-Mart is synonomis with "trailer trash" why would you want to associate yourself with that? I'll pay the extra money and shop anywhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as being "evil" and "driving mom and pop stores out of business" why is it always Wal*Mart? Why not Target? K-mart? Cub foods? They're all doing the same thing but no one seems to care.
I think it's because someone somewhere decided that this one particular company was evil (or did something to THEM that they wanted to get even for) and people are too stupid to do the research for themselves.
Most people will hear a story on the news and believe it because to believe it makes them feel good.... to boycott Wal*Mart because somebody told them to makes them feel like they're actually doing something.
If you think the small stores are best, then shop there. Me, I LOVE Wal*Mart (and Target). I shop there for the big things that I wouldn't buy at a little store anyway. The smaller stores are for the more specialized items.
Free enterprise -- that's what they mean by the American dream!

ME!!!!
Check out the book Bully of Bentonville.
Also, check out Nickel and Dimed (book)
Wal-Mart is a joke. They record mega profits each year yet can't see fit to pay their employees decent wages. Employees are scheduled for less than a full-time work week to avoid paying benefits. What benefits Wal-Mart offers to its employees are a joke. Employees are encouraged to apply for welfare and Medicaid. Employees' first checks are withheld to insure against any potential losses regarding uniform theft and the like (like anyone would WANT that ugly, blue vest!). They bully their suppliers to provide them (Wal-Mart) goods for resale at the lowest possible cost to the supplier thus minimizing or even ereasing any potential profit for the supplier.
I could go on and on and on and on............
Please read the books.

One thing I noticed in there was the Subway sandwich place was too close to the entry doors, and idiots hang out there so when you walk in you get this creeped out feeling.
and the lines are way too long, the cashiers get slower as the lines get longer. Believe this: two people SHUT DOWN their registers while there must have been 30 -35 people trying to buy things. I only had 6 items and spent more time trying to pay then to collect them.
While their products are just as cheap as you'd expect, the people working there seem to be in a daze. Not a helpful, friendly place to spend my money. I wonder if the hired help know that it is the customer that pays their salary?

Wal-Mart used to be find in my book untill they remodeled our store...now we have 1/2 the room in all isles and 1/2 the selection! Where in the hell did everything go?
And why is it that there is always 5 or 6 express lanes open and 2 normal lines; and have you tried the self-check out lanes... What a nightmare..."Please put your item back in the bag", "please remove last item", "Item not on file, please see attendant", "Please show attendent your valid ID" (then they gut some little kid workin it and they have to get another person to validate the beer!
OH MY GOD..... what ever happend to the good ole days?

Let me guess, Bush owns Wal-Mart. When will you anti-capitalist commie liberals give it a rest. Because an American owned business that offers good prices succeeds, you hate them. I truly feel sorry for you because you are an idiot.

oh yeah, i mean who wants to buy food, clothes and electronics at discount prices everyday. Oh no a world without name brands, i dont think so. I mean come on. And on top of that employing all kinds of people. Espescially in texas, I mean it gives alot of hispanics the chance to have a stable job, health insurance and a retirement plan. Oh my, i think that this is an awful idea. the next time any one decides to make a comment or ask a question, think about what you are trying to say.
