I watched EVERYthing when I was a kid. I'm trying to introduce my kteen daughters to some scary movies, but I'm hoping to find some that I haven't seen yet. Please suggest the SCARIEST movies you recall - especially recent movies that I may have missed since I don't go to the movies anymore.

It's a long list dear...

EXORCIST to start with, I feel it's the scariest movie ever made till date considering the time when it was made..it still scares the sheet out of me..(lol) Stephen King's IT is also a pretty good movie, the best adaptation of his book yet...that reminds me THE SHINING again another Stephen King book converted in movie with Jack Nicholsan in the lead role...it's pretty good and scary....for more recent ones..I guess

THE GRUDGE
THE RING (part 1)
THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE
BHOOT(hindi)

These are the ones that comes to my mind now..

check them out!!!

Most of these movies are just slashers/shock-scene movies. They are never really "scary" they just make you jump. Try: Ringu, The Eye, Misery, The Fourth Kind, The Shining, Pet Sematary, Dark Water. Oh, and spare your self the American remakes of Ringu, The Eye, and Dark Water. They aren't scary at all. Japanese can make some scary movies dude. If you aren't scared by those... There's no hope for you man. xD

Candy man scared the mess out of me, I had the all the lights in the house off and then with surround sound oh my. When my husband walked in the room he starting laughing at me saying funny with my eyes wide open and holding on to the pillow. I think this is a good movie to see with her child.
