You stated that her mother has the book published. Why are you asking for a publishing company? Did she simply have a copy shop print and bind it? That's not publishing a book. In either event, consult the Writer's Market at your local library or buy one at a book store.

Inside are lists of literary agents and publishers that mention what sort of genre they'd accept. The best approach for an unpublished author is to contact a reputable literary agent by query letter. It will do no good to write in the letter what you've outlined in your question to this site.

Simply give a brief synopsis of the story and make sure to include all pertinent contact information. Don't include that all the neighbors and friends love the book; it shows amateurism.

Check the agent's website for submission guidelines and learn how to format the query letter and the manuscript properly before submission.

Good luck.

Never let anyone talk you into paying to have books published. The traditional way of getting published is: get a literary agent that will pitch the book to publishers.

Purchase the book Writer's Market, it lists publishers for various
types of books, as well as lists of literary agents.
