Based on the current 1-year service offers by the only 2 providers worth looking into, I'd go with net10:
Net10 = $12.50/mo. & 1,500 min.
TracFone = $8.33/mo. & 250 units or $10.83/mo. & 400 units

I like to compare what's out there by their annual activation offers since those are the ones that make the most economic sence.

These 2 are actually 2 sister companies, their parent company being América Móvil. The main reason for only considering these 2 is that América Móvil has contracts that allow it to connect you using any network (t-mobile, Verizon,...etc.) so you'll actually enjoy cell phone service that will be more reliable than that of customers with monthly plans with major carriers.

I am very happy with my T-Mobile to go. They give you reduced rates after the first $100.00. You can do it all at once...or a little as you go. I got one because I was traveling at the time...and I can't say for sure where I will end up. It is the same rate...no matter where I call from...or where I call to...so it works for me. I also like the idea of avoiding contracts and monthly charges. I decided on T-Mobile after doing some comparison shopping...it was the most practical...with no fine print to worry about.

I even have 3 pay as you go cellular telephones they're pageplus telephones. they're somewhat user-friendly to software and straightforward to pay for devoid of each and all of the hassles of paying a telephone bill. that's already paid for. i think of they're stable to have.
