It is in BETA so there is no guarantee it will work properly. As for your second question, you could download adaware and spybot search and destroy both from download.com. Oh and btw, the perso who recommended superantispyware is stupid. SuperAntiSpyware is a rouge antispyware program. Meaning it gives you false positives and also gives you spyware instead of removing it. The only 2 programs that are real - full blown - are adaware and spybot. Download those 2, get a antivirus ( if you want a free one get AVG FRee from download.com, and get a firewall (free one is zonealarm free firewall from download.come as well. ) Hope i could help

I believe you are clicking on the toolbar scan button to scan. Just click on home icon and select scan from there it should work.

There is a updated defender beta 2 also available that fixed this problem. Try that out also.

Beta version so there is no guarantee that it'll work properly and then its from Microsoft anyway.

Just download a different one. The one I'm using for virus (home version) is this http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10533644.html?tag=lst-0-2

Uninstall the windows defender beta 2 first.

Windows Defender Beta 2 was and has been broken since they moved from "Giant Antispyware" to whatever it is now.

This is not a fault of your computer, or you, the software simply does not work.

You could also be jogging a incompatible protection app. Basically it is a unfastened optimum anti-spy ware software incorporated with the working method however no longer all people makes use of it relying on their protection configurations.

you have malware in place (presumably--could be a false positive,
but..)--so you qualify for PSS's free help with virus or security patch
issues.

In the United States or Canada, call 1-866-pcsafety.

Elsewhere call the local Microsoft subsidiary or number for paid support in
your area.
