I'm drinking the UNsweetened cranberry juice -- the kind that isn't in a cocktail or buffered by sugar. The kind that tastes like turpentine. I've been chugging about a jug of it a day for two days, and while my symptoms are subsiding, I don't know if I can look at another glass of this crap without hurling. Which leads me to the point of this question...

Has it been proven that the cranberry *pills* are as effective a cure as the juice?

if you are prone to UTI's, just take a cranberry pill every day.
also, if you have one right now, go to a doc and get some meds to help you feel better... i always get em and i always keep a bigg bottle og AZO (standard)pills (the blue box). its a good pain reliever, it makes your urine orange, but its not the cure.

to prevent these, after sex, pee!! always! i always tell my fiance he has to wait till i drinka glass of water. lol.

also, drinkwater. replace it with soda (its healthier too)

if you wear thongs, only get cotton.
dont use Tampons as much as possible. (especially at night)
dont wear tight clothes
dont wear a wet bathing suit very long
ALWAYS keep it clean.

well i hope this helps.. i know "the cure for a uti" wasnt your question, but i hope this helps a little so you wont have to drink that nasty juice!

You can get cranberry drugs on the retailer. check out Walmart or Target pharmacies. You ought to drink tons of water. Cranberry juice does no longer medication a UTI. What it does is aid preserve the micro organism from sticking to the wall of the bladder. The secret's alot of water.

cranberry pills are good for preventing a UTI. it is better to drink cranberry juice because the juice is not as processed as the cranberry extracts in the pill is, so youre actually getting better antioxidants and better healthy chemicals from the juice since it is more natural.

It is the chemicals that are in the cranberry that cause the e.coli's flagella not to attach. You can certainly try the Azo supplements. Don't hurl.. or hurt your stomach.

There is a an over-the-counter pill that works, and you'll pee orange aftwards. Try it. And make sure you wipe front to back. No anal before vaginal sex and always pee after sex.
